Approved the new Plan of Tourist Accommodations of Barcelona

The Plenary of the Barcelona City Council has definitively approved, with the votes of the Government (Barcelona in Comú and PSC) and ERC, the Special Urban Tourism Tourist Plan (PEUAT), also known as the Colau moratorium.

The document responds to "the need to manage tourism accommodation in a controlled manner to guarantee the right to housing, a sustainable urban model and improving the quality of life of the neighborhood," according to the municipal government.

In this way, the PEUAT delimits a central area of the city where the number of tourist places has to decrease, because it is considered to be saturated; Another intermediate zone where the figure is maintained, and two more distant areas where new places can be created, but in a limited way.
